AB 273 - Ban Fur Trapping: this bill will ban all commercial and recreational trapping of fur-bearing mammals, such as badgers, beaver, coyote, gray fox, mink, raccoon, and other species in the state. REASON: Fur trapping is inhumane and reduces our State's biodiversity.


AB 733 (Quirk) - Aquatic Toxiticity: Hazardous waste must be disposed of properly to protect public health and the environment. Today, Assemblymember Bill Quirk (D-Hayward) introduced AB 733, which will enable California to identify this waste more humanely and accurately.


Ab 1260 – Ban on Exotic Skins: AB 1260 would add hippopotamus’, sharks, stingrays, and many reptiles to a list that already includes big cats, polar bears, dolphins, and other threatened or endangered species.


SB 313 (Hueso) - Animals: prohibition on use in circuses: this bill will ban a specified list of animals from performing in traveling shows, such as circuses. REASON: Animals in traveling shows are beaten and live in horrible conditions in order to perform unnatural tricks for entertainment.


SB 202 - Blood Bank: will allow for animals that live with their owners to give blood at commercial blood banks.


SB 64 (Chang) Pet Microchipping Bill: The bill mandates microchipping for all dogs and cats being adopted from shelter or rescue or reclaimed by owner.


AB 479 Plant based School lunches: encourages school-lunch programs to incorporate plant-based options by creating a financial incentive program through the state. REASON: To encourage schools to get children healthy meals.
